Dolemite Is My Name
“Dolemite Is My Name” is an extraordinary story set in the 1970s in Los Angeles. The main character is comedian Rudy Ray Moore, who is gaining fame thanks to his controversial alter ego, Dolemite. Note, the movie is almost entirely black-focused, so if anyone has a problem with it, don’t watch it at all.
This is a unique drama starring Scarlett Johansson and Adam Driver. It tells about the relationship between Nicole and Charlie that falls apart overnight. But parting is not as easy as it may seem, especially when you have a child together. Can they still get along and kindle the spark again? A very well-played and emotional film at the same time.
“Triple Frontier” is a film with a spectacular cast (Ben Affleck, Oscar Isaac, Charlie Hunnam, Pedro Pascal), which tells the story of a group of former special forces agents. This time they decide to do something for themselves, and not for the country they have fought for many times. They decide to earn some money, or more precisely $ 75 million. All they have to do is take a coup in a sparsely populated region of South America and return safely to the United States. Unfortunately, this is not as easy as it may seem.
“Cargo” is a brilliantly played, emotional story about a man stuck in the Australian outback during a zombie apocalypse. When it becomes infected, a struggle against time begins to find a shelter for the child before it transforms. A great film that draws handfuls from “The Way” by Cormac McCarthy and evokes my private associations with “The Last Of Us”. There is nothing original about it, but we are rooting for the hero until the last minute on the screen.
“Roma” is definitely one of the best films of 2018. It is a colorful portrayal of family conflicts and social hierarchy amidst political chaos, telling the story of young servants from the Mystek Indian people. Cleo and Adela work for a small family in a middle-class Mexico neighborhood in Mexico. The mistress of the house, mother of four, Sofia struggles to deal with her husband’s protracted absence, while Cleo faces a devastating truth.
